Before I met Lucy I had a very good base level of cardiovascular fitness, strength from my work and stamina from both. I did not have any real concept of how important my 'core' was to my work and going on to have a baby in my 40's robbed me of whatever I did have in that area. Once I tried to return to work the subsequent exhaustion opened my eyes to how much of my strength had indeed come from my middle; my grounded, strong, balanced centre.
I had no reservations about asking for Lucy’s help. I knew what I could do on my own but knew I was not motivated enough to put the time into core training alone.
The process of rebuilding my post natal 40 something body was well guided. I did one to one sessions with Lucy and she focused on my pelvic floor and all the relevant areas to help me regain strength. The sessions were varied, interesting, appropriately paced and tailored to my needs. I felt confident in her space and trusted her instructions.
The best result was the sense of strength I felt when I returned to work in a greater capacity. My developing participation in triathlons was also benefitting as my fitness improved. I began to feel stronger in my 40's than I had in my 30's!
I have recommended Lucy to many clients over the years as I have felt confident she was the right person to help them. I continually have client feedback that is positive and it is in regard to the evolving variety of her classes, always changing and challenging. Whether one to one or with a group and bearing in mind she caters to a hugely diverse group of people, she is empathic and knowledgeable regarding any physical or emotional issues those individuals may have.
Basically everyone seems to highly respect Lucy, values her and benefits from time spent with her. In fact the only negative I ever hear is that she dares to take the school holidays off so her followers have to cope without her!

I have been working with Lucy on a one to one basis for the past 6 months.
Before starting Pilates classes with Lucy I was suffering with constant pain and stiffness in my lower back, with referred pain, stiffness and aches in my hips and thighs.
I had no reservations whatsoever about working with Lucy, having attended one of her classes previously and found it excellent.
Working with Lucy has been both enjoyable and beneficial. She uses a variety of exercises and stretches which are tailored to my specific needs each week.
I now have much improved mobility and core strength, and improvement in pain and general fitness.
It has been a pleasure meeting Lucy and working with her, and I appreciate the dedication she gives to her work.

Before I met Lucy I had had a Discectomy 1 year before and was ready to go back to Pilates once a week. I had been doing Pilates for 8 years prior to my back operation and that put me in good stead for the recovery. I have been seeing Lucy since last January once a week. I was seeing another advanced Pilates teacher before Lucy but needed to find someone locally. I did a lot of research beforehand as I was extremely nervous but knew my strengths and ability. Lucy was the 3rd teacher I experienced and I immediately knew she was perfect for me and my back! We just clicked!! Lucy has been very patient yet knows my limitations as I tend to want to push myself. She gives me so much confidence during the lesson and reminds me to slow down and take my time, which helps me to enjoy the lesson even more yet still feel I have had a good workout. I have gained a lot of confidence in my back thanks to Lucy’s knowledge and experience. There have been several positives that have come out of my time spent with Lucy, confidence is the most noticeable one for me.

I joined Lucys classes as I was suffering increased aches and pains, particularly with exercise as well as muscular tension around the neck and shoulders which was work related.Under Lucys expert and sympathetic supervision ,my flexibility has increased, back pains reduced and the core ( beer belly) firmed up - just as importantly the classes are fun , and one leaves with stresses relieved and batteries recharged.
I would recommend Lucys classes to people of all shapes ages and fitness levels , and certainly would and do point my patients in her direction.

I was first referred to Lucy because I had a persistent lower back pain. My wife had been to group Pilates classes before but had found them difficult to follow.
Lucy agreed to come to us at home, and we started separate weekly sessions with her in February. I was clearly unfit and in pain and so we began in a very straightforward way, and have built up from there.
As far as I am concerned we have come a long way. To start with I was quite apprehensive. I was on a steep learning curve and now I look forward to Lucy’s next visit with great anticipation. Whilst each session works to a general theme, there are always different exercises to do, and Lucy ensures that it is fun, albeit hard work in part!
I now have no back pain and feel altogether fitter. After enjoying all the temptations of summer living, I was determined to lose weight and have now achieved my target and Lucy gave me advice on my diet but continuing to eat sensibly. Knowing I have these weekly sessions will, hopefully, ensure I don’t regress on that front!
Lucy is great fun as a person and as an instructor. The variety of exercises makes every session different but she explains very clearly what is required. It is hard work, and requires concentration. The satisfaction of progressing is great!
I would highly recommend Lucy as a Pilates teacher but also as a person. Lucy is very understanding of one’s limitations but finds a way to progress in the most appropriate way. I am now overall a fitter and stronger person thanks to Lucy.
