Post Op Rehab


Post-operation rehabilitation can feel very overwhelming and although it is easy to start with good intentions, it's also easy to lose the motivation to do the work on your own.

You don't however have to do it alone; I can help you to adhere to your physio exercises and develop them gradually to maximise the effects of your surgery. The human body is very resilient, and with patience and dedication (and a little guidance) you'll soon regain strength and mobility. Pelvic Floor Repair

 

After recently undergoing a pelvic floor operation, I am well aware of the various challenges that come during the 6-week recovery period. Luckily my extensive Pilates training (with first hand experience of the extraordinary effectiveness of daily physio) saw me safely through the physiotherapy programme and I achieved results that fulfilled all my expectations (and my surgeon's!).

Leaving the hospital can feel very isolating, particularly when handed instructions from the physiotherapist that seemed clear at the time, but can be confusing once you are home. And not only are you having to deal with the general after- effects of the anaesthetic, but also the unexpected tiredness and discombobulation that surgery can bring; from personal experience I know this can be massively overwhelming.
